ZAES notified the IAEA staff about the attack on the engine room of the power unit

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is aware of the attack by a Ukrainian drone on the engine room of power unit No. 6 of the Zaporizhia NPP. This was announced on May 30 by Evgenia Yashina, Director of Communications at the nuclear power plant.

"We have just notified the IAEA staff," she said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

Alexey Likhachev, head of the Rosatom state Corporation, announced the attack of a Ukrainian drone on the nuclear power plant's engine room on the same day. According to him, the drone broke through the wall of the room and exploded.

A new rotation of IAEA experts is also planned.

On May 27, Likhachev noted that over the past month there had been an unprecedented number of attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the infrastructure of the nuclear power plant and Energodar. He added that Rosatom has launched a program to support Energodar and "will stand up for the residents of the city and the station staff."
