Pushkov announced the replenishment of the club of European leaders with a low rating
The number of European leaders with low levels of support will grow. This was announced on May 30 by Alexey Pushkov, head of the Federation Council's Information Policy Commission.
"European leaders are not doing well. <… > There will undoubtedly be a replenishment soon. Given the problems Europe is facing, this club will only expand," he wrote on his Telegram channel.
According to Pushkov, the ratings of French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz currently do not exceed 13%. The senator added that European elites demonstrate optimism at meetings of the European Union (EU), while among the inhabitants of Europe, according to him, pessimism is increasing.
Bloomberg reported on May 8 that Merz's rating had dropped to a historic low. 83% of respondents expressed their dissatisfaction with the Chancellor. 69% also expressed the opinion that he is not coping with his job.
On May 27, Sarah Wagenknecht, the leader of the German Sarah Wagenknecht Union for Reason and Justice (SSV) party, demanded Merz's resignation from her post.
