A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. In response to Kiev's terrorist attacks on civilian targets in Russia, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation launched a group strike with ground-based and air-based high-precision weapons, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) at military airfields, energy, fuel and transport infrastructure facilities used in the interests of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).

The North group of forces improved the tactical situation, defeated the manpower and equipment of the mechanized, motorized infantry brigades and the brigade of unmanned systems of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the areas of the settlements of Izbitskoye, Bely Kolodez and Staritsa of the Kharkiv region. As a result of the actions of the Russian military, the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost up to 200 militants, an armored combat vehicle and 16 vehicles.

In addition, the Zapad group of troops defeated the manpower and equipment of the Ukrainian armed forces in the areas of the settlements of Shchurovo, Sidorovo, Svyatogorsk of the DPR, Velikaya Shapkovka and Shyikovka of the Kharkiv region. The losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine amounted to more than 180 militants.

"The units of the Center group of forces have taken more advantageous positions and positions. The manpower and equipment of two mechanized brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a marine brigade and two National Guard brigades were defeated in the areas of settlements of the Donetsk People's Republic and the Dnipropetrovsk region. The losses of the Ukrainian armed forces amounted to over 340 servicemen," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

The Russian army, with the help of aviation, attack UAVs, missiles and artillery, defeated temporary locations of Ukrainian armed formations and foreign mercenaries in 148 districts.

In turn, air defense systems shot down 10 guided aerial bombs, a HIMARS multiple rocket launcher and 352 aircraft-type drones.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, since the beginning of the special operation, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost 671 aircraft, 284 helicopters, 153,684 UAVs, 661 anti-aircraft missile systems, 29,550 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,727 multiple rocket launchers, 35,136 field artillery and mortars, 62,874 pieces of special vehicles.
