Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) The United States used tear gas against protesters in Newark, New Jersey. Footage of the dispersal of demonstrators on May 30 is published by Izvestia.

The footage shows how security forces use tear gas, shields and batons against demonstrators. The territory of the migrant detention center, around which demonstrations are taking place, is guarded by reinforced police squads.

"Day after day, protesters clash with federal agents at the ICE detention center, and lawmakers are calling for inspections and supervision," the American CNN television channel reported.

According to lawyers, migrants at the center have been on hunger strike for a week, protesting against the conditions of detention. Activists have set up a tent camp nearby and are preparing for long-term actions. Many hide their faces with masks, carry umbrellas to protect them from pepper spray, and carry first-aid kits.

On May 2, protests against the US immigration service broke out again in Las Vegas. A column of protesters with placards and flags moved from district to district, the number of participants in the street action was rapidly increasing. Vendors lined the sidewalks with an assortment of badges, notebooks, postcards, and magnets with the words "Down with ICE." One of the protesters dressed as the Statue of Liberty said that America should be open to immigrants and workers.

On January 30, an ICE Out protest took place in Los Angeles, which means "The US Immigration and Customs Enforcement is out," during which activists clashed with police. The demonstrators demanded that federal immigration agents leave their areas. The organizers also called for a nationwide strike with work, school, and shopping shutdowns.
