- A prisoner of the Armed Forces of Ukraine told about the condemnation by his parents because of the decision to go to the front
Daniel Zharkov, a captured soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) of Ukrainian-Sudanese origin, said on May 30 that his parents did not appreciate his son's decision to go to the front.
"The mother was shocked. <...> The father immediately said: Well, you fool," he told RIA Novosti.
The prisoner noted that he comes from a mixed marriage: his mother is Ukrainian, and his father is Sudanese. At the same time, the head of the family has now left for Germany to work.
Vladimir Bobko, a military officer of the 119th separate Brigade of Territorial Defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as it became known a day earlier, asked relatives living in Lithuania to contact the Russian military and record a video message for him. He said that after the start of the conflict, he was unable to visit relatives in Lithuania, because in Ukraine there is a restriction on the departure of men over the age of 18.
