The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine told about the number of Ukrainians outside the country

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga said that about 8 million Ukrainians are currently outside the country. This was reported by the Ukrainian edition "Страна.иа ".

Sibiga noted that not all states are ready to facilitate the return of Ukrainian citizens to their homeland. It is noted that a number of countries are interested in preserving them on their territory because of their contribution to the local economy.

"We will need to fight for our people," the publication quotes the Foreign Minister as saying.

Euractiv reported on May 29 that the European Commission has asked the EU countries to exclude Ukraine from the list of states with the status of a "safe country", which allows the accelerated return of asylum seekers to their homeland.
