The incident with the drone crash in Romania is a provocation by the Kiev regime, which is trying to draw NATO into a conflict with Russia. This was announced on May 29 at the Russian Embassy.

"All this indicates that in reality there was another provocation by the Kiev regime, which is trying with all its might to draw NATO into a war with Russia and divert attention from the barbaric crime of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Starobilsk," the diplomatic mission's Telegram channel says.

It is specified that Russian Ambassador Vladimir Lipaev was summoned to the Romanian Foreign Ministry, where he was informed without reason about the closure of the Consulate General. During the meeting, the Romanian side did not provide answers to specific questions regarding the incident and refused to provide standard information.

The embassy stressed that the events in Galat cannot be interpreted as hostile actions by Russia, and all statements are manipulative propaganda.

On the same day, Mediafax news agency reported that a drone crashed into an apartment building in the town of Galac in eastern Romania. After the incident, the country's Foreign Minister, Oana Choiu, noted that the situation could become a reason for consultations on Article 4 of NATO, and Russian Ambassador Vladimir Lipaev was summoned to the department.

On May 29, Russian President Vladimir Putin called for waiting for the examination of the UAV wreckage in Romania. He recalled that in previous similar cases, it later turned out that the devices were not related to Russia and were manufactured in Ukraine.
