Since June of this year, minors from 10 to 16 years old can travel on more than 20 long-distance daytime train routes unaccompanied. This was announced on May 29 by the press service of Russian Railways (RZD).

"Starting from June 1, our young passengers aged 10 to 16 will be able to travel on more than 20 routes unaccompanied," the statement on the website says.

The trains providing the service included Aurora, Burevestnik, Lastochka and Finist. The company clarified that during the trip the children will be looked after by the head of the train and the conductor. At the same time, at the arrival station, the child will be handed over to the person indicated in the application.

You can apply at the ticket offices no later than three days before the train departs from the starting station. It is noted that upon boarding, you must present the document for which the ticket was issued, the original and two copies of the statement of responsibility for transportation, as well as a receipt for payment for the service.

In early January, Russian Railways announced that starting this month, tickets for children under 14 for trains to foreign countries can only be issued with a foreign passport.
