On Friday, May 29, Victoria Sadovskaya, an endocrinologist at the Sberbank Health medical company, named unhealthy but popular breakfast dishes among Russians.
"For breakfast, you should avoid fatty and fried foods, such as fast food, sausage or sweet pastries. These products relax the lower esophageal sphincter, the valve between the stomach and esophagus, slowing down gastric emptying," the doctor warned in an interview with Lenta.Ru .
She added that it is better not to eat foods high in simple carbohydrates for breakfast, such as sweets or sugary cereals. They cause a sharp spike in blood sugar levels and, if consumed regularly, increase the risk of developing metabolic disorders, including prediabetes and diabetes.
The endocrinologist noted that porridge in some conditions and diseases will do more harm than good. Thus, people with gluten intolerance are not recommended to eat porridges made from bulgur, barley and wheat, as they contain this protein. You can choose rice or buckwheat, Sadovskaya concluded.
Nutritionist, Ph.D., doctor of preventive integrative medicine Rimma Moisenko told on May 21 how to slow down the aging process. The specialist noted that it is important to control the level of total protein in the blood: if the indicators decrease, the proportion of animal protein in the diet should be increased and, if necessary, enzymes should be activated.
The expert emphasized that it is worth adding fats to breakfast, such as oily fish or olive oil, to support the functioning of the gallbladder and improve food absorption. Eggs, she says, are best eaten soft-boiled, as the liquid yolk is easier to digest.
