The EAEU countries have announced their intention to develop joint projects in the field of AI

The states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) intend to expand cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence and implement joint projects to introduce relevant technologies in various sectors of the economy. This was stated on May 29 in a joint statement by the heads of state of the association.

The document notes that the countries of the union consider artificial intelligence as one of the key factors of economic growth, technological development and increasing the competitiveness of national economies.

"We express confidence that cooperation in the responsible development and application of artificial intelligence in economic sectors within the EAEU will become a powerful impetus for the technological and economic progress of our countries, while ensuring the protection of guaranteed rights of citizens and digital sovereignty of the member states," the Kremlin said in a statement posted on its website.

In addition, the EAEU member states agreed to intensify cooperation between authorities, business and the expert community on the development and implementation of AI, as well as exchange experience in regulating new technologies.

On the same day, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced that the EAEU countries had adopted a statement on the responsible development of AI at the initiative of Astana. The implementation of the process, according to Tokayev, will help the interstate union strengthen external stability and increase competitiveness.
