The State Council of the Russian Federation noted the need to develop the rehabilitation of its veterans

Improving the system of medical and social rehabilitation of participants in a special military operation remains one of the key tasks of the state. This was announced on May 29 by Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation, Secretary of the State Council Alexei Dyumin.

"A lot has been done, a lot is being done, at the same time, unresolved issues and problems remain. It is very important to continue building closer cooperation between the Ministry of Defense and other relevant ministries," he said at a meeting of the State Council's commission on support for combat veterans and their families.

Dyumin noted that the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation, created by decision of Russian President Vladimir Putin, began to form a system of support for military personnel from the very first days of its work together with the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Labor, the Ministry of Sports, the Federal Medical and Biological Agency and other structures. Rehabilitation centers of various levels are also being established in the regions. However, Dyumin noted that special attention should be paid to training specialists to work with veterans.

"We are well aware that it is necessary to train personnel to work in these centers, who know the specifics, starting from the medical orientation, and including psychological aspects at the same time," the assistant to the President of the Russian Federation emphasized.

The Secretary of the State Council also stated the need for closer cooperation between the Ministry of Defense and civilian departments. It should include the prompt exchange of information so that assistance to the participants of the SVR is provided "without delay." According to Dyumin, new methods of treatment and recovery developed by the country's leading medical institutions should be promptly implemented throughout Russia.

Special attention was paid at the meeting to the issues of social rehabilitation of participants in the special operation. An aide to the Russian leader said that along with medical rehabilitation, employment, retraining and creating an accessible environment for veterans are important.

Igor Babushkin, Chairman of the State Council's commission for the support of combat veterans, proposed during the meeting to create a single digital resource that would combine all measures to support participants in their military operations and their family members. According to him, such a system will allow citizens to quickly receive the necessary information about federal and regional benefits, payments and the procedure for their registration, regardless of the level of training and legal literacy.

In addition, Babushkin spoke about the development by the Ministry of Economic Development of methodological recommendations for military personnel on the development of entrepreneurial competencies. According to the plan, they should help veterans develop the skills to start their own business.

"We all communicate a lot with veterans and often hear about their desire to start their own business. But, of course, not everyone has the experience and knowledge to do this. The Ministry of Economic Development has developed methodological recommendations for the support infrastructure for the development of entrepreneurial competencies of ITS veterans, who should help in starting their own business," he said.

Putin said on May 22 that the social support of every veteran is part of the educational work of the whole society.
