- A truck driver was killed when an APU mine detonated on a section of the Novorossiya highway
The driver of a KamAZ truck was killed when a mine was detonated by a Baba-Yaga hexacopter of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on the P280 Novorossiya highway. This was announced on May 29 by the Governor of the Kherson region, Vladimir Saldo.
"The enemy mined a section of the Novorossiya highway — the driver of the KAMAZ was killed...> Several cars that were carrying apartment blocks for facilities in Genichesk were also damaged," he said in a post on his Telegram channel.
The governor called the incident cynical barbarism, which reminded him of the "fascist blockade of Leningrad", staged during the Great Patriotic War. Then, as he clarified, the enemy also tried to intimidate people and disrupt communication between territories, breaking the will of the civilian population.
Shells appeared on this road, according to the head of the region, today, at about 06:00 Moscow time in the morning. They were detected both on the roadway itself and on the roadsides. These objects react to movement, because, as Baldo added, they pose a "mortal danger" to others.
Now the area where the tragedy occurred has been blocked — mine clearance is underway there. The head of the Kherson region urged motorists to be vigilant on the roads and, if suspicious objects are found, immediately inform emergency services about them.
Acting Governor of the Bryansk region, Egor Kovalchuk, announced the day before that a civilian was killed in an attack by drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the village of Solovyovka in the Klimovsky district. According to him, the Ukrainian militants used a kamikaze drone. The acting head of the Bryansk region clarified that the relatives of the deceased will be provided with all the assistance they require.
