Turkey reported injuries as a result of a UAV attack on a ship in the Black Sea
A Turkish-owned vessel in the Black Sea was attacked by a drone, and there are wounded as a result of the strike. This was stated on May 29 in a statement by the Turkish Foreign Ministry.
"In the evening (on May 28), a Vanuatu—flagged vessel belonging to a Turkish owner and carrying dry cargo from the port of Odessa (Ukraine) to Turkey was attacked by an unmanned aerial vehicle, as a result of which two of our citizens from among the crew members were slightly injured," the diplomats noted.
The ministry clarified that the Consulate General in Odessa is closely monitoring the condition of Turkish citizens on board the ship.
A day earlier, drone attacks were reported on three tankers near the northern coast of Turkey. It is specified that the James II tanker flying the flag of Palau was attacked about 80 km north of the Turkeli area. The other two vessels, Altura and Velora, flying the flag of Sierra Leone, were attacked in a nearby area.
