Mitsubishi has announced the return of the Pajero SUV
Mitsubishi will hold the world premiere of the new Pajero SUV in the fall of 2026, the press service of the Japanese brand announced on May 29. Production of the fourth and last generation model was discontinued in 2021.
It is stated that the new Mitsubishi Pajero will be based on the Mitsubishi Triton pickup truck and will receive a redesigned suspension, as well as a new interior. The company noted that the model will offer "outstanding off-road capabilities" and driving comfort.
The Japanese company shared a teaser image of the model, which shows the front of a promising SUV with T-shaped LED optics. It is noted that the Pajero is being developed as the brand's new flagship model.
In Russia, the Mitsubishi Pajero was sold starting from the second generation and was in high demand on the market. Worldwide sales of the model since 1982 have exceeded 3.25 million copies in more than 170 countries. In the Dakar rally, Pajero scored 12 victories.
On May 14, sales of the new Toyota Land Cruiser FJ frame SUV, which was introduced at the end of last year, started in the Japanese market. The most compact model of the Land Cruiser range is offered in one package at a price of 4.5 million yen.
