Gutsan declared his readiness to resist external interference together with the PRC
On May 28, Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Alexander Gutsan discussed topical issues of combating crime with representative of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC Central Committee), Secretary of the Political and Legal Commission Chen Wenqing.
"We will jointly resist attempts to interfere in internal affairs from the outside and share the necessary information for this, and coordinate our positions more actively on international platforms, including the United Nations, BRICS, SCO and Interpol, in order to combat threats to global security," the Russian Prosecutor General said.
Gutan noted the unprecedented high level of bilateral relations. He stressed that this was made possible thanks to the course set by Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping.
"The evidence is my recent visit to Beijing and meetings with my Chinese colleagues — Attorney General Ying Yong, Minister of Public Security Wang Xiaohong and Minister of Justice He Rong," said the head of the Russian supervisory authority.
He announced the signing of a number of important documents in the Chinese capital aimed at further developing a constructive and mutually beneficial partnership. We are talking about joining forces in the fight against cybercrime, terrorism, extremism, money laundering, the return of illegally obtained assets, as well as other challenges faced by Russia and China.
According to him, working "shoulder to shoulder" with Chinese colleagues has allowed us to further bring our positions closer, which will have a positive impact on the relations between the two states. Gutsan assured that the Russian Prosecutor General's Office will continue to consider cooperation with China as the main priority of international cooperation.
"I am convinced that further joint work will ensure reliable protection of the strategic interests of Russia and China," stressed the head of the Russian supervisory authority.
In conclusion, the Russian Prosecutor General wished the interlocutor professional success, and the people of China prosperity and well—being.
At a meeting with Ying Yun in Beijing on May 27, Gutsan said that almost 100 Russian and Chinese prosecutors had completed advanced training at departmental educational institutions. Gutsan thanked his Chinese counterpart for the invitation and highly appreciated the effectiveness of cooperation between the prosecutor's offices. The parties agreed to continue working together in the field of combating crime and in other areas.
