Sollers sold 20% of the stamping plant at UAZ to a Chinese company
The Russian Sollers Group has sold a Chinese company a 20% stake in a company that will produce body parts and frames for Sollers pickups and SUVs at the UAZ industrial site in Ulyanovsk. This was reported by Kommersant on May 29.
Chinese Hefei Hualong Mould Co. Ltd (JF Mould) produces molds for the automotive industry, it has received a fifth share in the structure of Sollers, LLC Stamp Technologies.
Representatives of Sollers confirmed the completion of the transaction and noted that the involvement of a partner would strengthen the company's stamping competencies and introduce industry best practices. In addition, the company has many years of professional expertise in the management of stamping production and technologies, they said.
Stamping of body parts for cars of the domestic Sollers brand was established in 2025 at the company's factory in Yelabuga. If stamping is underway in Tatarstan for the light commercial segment of Sollers, then in Ulyanovsk — for pickups and the Sollers SUV, and in the future for UAZ. Stamp Technologies is currently operating in test mode, with the start of mass production scheduled for the second quarter of 2026.
On May 7, the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant reported that five presses for stamping parts of Sollers pickups, and in the future, UAZ cars, are already undergoing test tests. The line will reach full capacity soon. In the frame building, the foundation of the sixth press is being completed with a force of 2,500 tons-forces, the press will take its place in the first span. In the second half of the year, another new crane with a lifting capacity of 50 tons will be placed in the building to move the die tooling.
