Rostec State Corporation has supplied a batch of upgraded BMD-2 amphibious assault vehicles to the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. This was announced on May 29 by the company's press service.

The equipment, prepared by specialists of the High-Precision Complexes holding, is equipped with a Bereg combat compartment. This module has increased firepower and target range, which expands the capabilities of airborne units. The set of equipment includes an improved sighting system, an improved fire control system and guided weapons "Kornet".

As Bekhan Ozdoev, industrial director of the Rostec arms cluster, noted, the modernization was the result of continuous improvement of technology based on the experience of its actual use. According to him, the BMD-2 has become more technologically advanced and more convenient for the crew, which makes it possible to compare it with the BMP-2M equipped with the Berezhok combat module.

"In addition, the effectiveness of the machine has reached a new level: more formidable weapons allow you to "reach" the enemy at an increased distance, which increases its survival rate and ensures the safety of military personnel," he said.

All vehicles transferred to the troops are additionally equipped with electronic warfare (EW) equipment and additional protection kits.

Rostec announced on May 27 that the Russian universal ground-based robotic complexes (NRTC) of the Impulse model have a large payload capacity and can move a 122-millimeter D-30 howitzer, whose mass exceeds 3 tons. It was clarified that at the moment, "Impulse" is widely used by Russian military personnel in the area of the special operation.
