Demand for driving lessons has increased in Russia

In March – May 2026, the demand for driving lessons in Russia increased by 11% compared to the same period last year. In addition to the standard exam preparation, motorists are increasingly learning more narrow disciplines, from high—speed maneuvering to emergency driving. On May 29, experts from Avito Services told Izvestia about this.

According to analysts, the interest in obtaining the rights to operate special equipment has grown most noticeably. The demand for training to obtain a tractor driver's license has tripled year on year. It is noted that qualified drivers in this category remain one of the most sought—after specialists on the market - during the peak season, their earnings can reach 300 thousand rubles per month, which explains the growing interest.

Twice as often, users became interested in navigation and preparation for registration for GIMS rights: such a document opens access to the management of boats, jet skis and boats. With the beginning of the water entertainment season, obtaining a license in the category of driving small vessels is becoming more and more in demand. Interest in the construction of special equipment and in car maintenance and repair increased by 27%, experts noted.

Among the "automotive" categories, the "A" category turned out to be the growth leader: the demand for motorcycle driving training increased 42% over the year. Interest in learning to drive a category "B1", which gives the right to drive tricycles and ATVs, increased by 17%. Classes at the training ground also showed a noticeable increase: the demand for them increased fourfold.

High-speed maneuvering training has become more popular by 42%. Emergency driving has become more in demand by 21% than a year earlier, interest in practicing parking skills has increased by 12%, and in working out a specific route "work-home" — by 11%.

According to the study, among the preferences for choosing a teacher, the following trend is observed: the demand for classes with female instructors increased by 24%, while the interest in lessons from male instructors increased by 15%.

Criteria and indicators for assessing the training of future drivers have been approved

The day before, the order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation came into force, providing for the creation of a rating of the effectiveness of driving schools in terms of accidents and success in exams. The document approving the list of indicators and criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of such organizations has been published on the portal pravo.gov.ru . It is assumed that the rating, which will be published in the public domain, will become a guideline for people when choosing an educational institution.
