The rector of the temple named five good deeds to be performed on Holy Day
On the Day of the Holy Spirit, which in 2026 falls on June 1, believers are traditionally reminded of the importance of avoiding sins and doing good deeds. Vladislav Beregovoy, head of the missionary department of the Pesochenskaya diocese, rector of St. Nicholas Church in Mosalsk, told Izvestia five simple good deeds that can be done on the holiday.
"Let's smile at every person who comes our way on this day. We'll put some sweets or lollipops in our pockets, and we'll treat everyone. But you don't just have to walk down the street, you have to talk to someone, tell them, "Here's a piece of candy," the priest suggested.
The priest added that on the holiday it is worth trying to do at least three good deeds per day, "so that you can remember what good things I did before going to bed."
"At home, let's put down our phones for a while and be with our family for real. We will not just formally ask the children, husband or wife how the day went, giving ourselves a mental check mark "I am a good father or husband," but we will really talk, listen to each other, and communicate. In the end, we'll just be a family. We will try not to deceive anyone, not to do harm to anyone. We will not "take out" the brain to each other. We'll just be normal people. Just good, normal people," Beregovoy suggested.
Earlier, the dean of the Baltai district of the Saratov Diocese, Priest Oleg Zhilyakov, told what not to do during the commemoration of the deceased.
