Quarantine was introduced in the village of the Kyrin district of the Trans-Baikal Territory due to brucellosis in animals. This is reported by ChitaMedia news agency with reference to the relevant order of the authorities posted on the website of the official publication of legal acts.

Quarantine was introduced in the village of Verkhny Ulkhun in connection with the detection of infection in five private subsidiary farms at once. According to the news agency, outbreaks were recorded on Lenin and Prokushev streets.

During the quarantine period, it is forbidden to treat sick animals and allow outsiders to enter infected territories. In addition, livestock grazing, movement and forage harvesting are restricted. It is forbidden to water other animals from reservoirs that have been used for watering sick animals for 90 days.

In addition, all fairs, exhibitions and auctions involving the accumulation of animals in one place have been canceled. The entry and exit of vehicles not involved in the fight against the outbreak is also prohibited.

On May 25, Izvestia, citing a source, reported that seven people had contracted brucellosis in the Astrakhan monastery. The infection was confirmed in both priests and parishioners, and they were all hospitalized. According to preliminary data, the cause of infection was the consumption of dairy products.
