Beekeeper: the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked a gymnasium in Svatovo with drones in the LPR

On May 27, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) launched drone strikes on the Svatovo municipal district of the Luhansk People's Republic (LNR). As a result of the attacks, the gymnasium building and a civilian car were damaged, and a 51-year-old man was killed. All the details are in the Izvestia article.

The circumstances of the incident

In Svatovo, a civilian car was hit, killing a 51-year-old man. Two more victims, a woman and a man, received various injuries. In addition, Ukrainian militants attacked the educational institution of the republic again.

"As a result of another attack, the building of the Svatovskaya gymnasium No. 7 was damaged — the blow fell on the roof of the building. Fortunately, there were no children there," said Leonid Pasechnik, the head of the LPR.

UAVs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were also detected in Severodonetsk. Three people were injured there — a car and a building of one of the municipal enterprises were hit.

The reaction of the authorities

"On behalf of the residents of the republic and on my own behalf, I offer my condolences to the family and friends of the deceased. I wish the wounded a speedy recovery," said the Beekeeper.

He also stressed that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are purposefully attacking civilians and civilian infrastructure. Employees of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia for the LPR are recording Kiev's crimes, and the victims are receiving all the necessary medical care, the head of the region assured.

Ukrainian Armed Forces attack on Starobilsk

This is not the first time Ukraine has attacked educational institutions in the LPR in recent days. On the night of May 22, 2026, UAVs targeted the academic building and dormitory of the Starobilsk Vocational College. 21 people became victims of the tragedy, 65 more were injured. In the LPR, May 24 and 25 were declared days of mourning. A criminal case has been opened.

On May 25, the Russian Foreign Ministry warned that the Ukrainian Armed Forces' strike on Starobilsk had "run out of patience," so the Russian Armed Forces are launching successive strikes against military installations in Kiev. The ministry also advised foreigners to leave Kiev as soon as possible, and local residents not to approach military and administrative infrastructure facilities.

Later, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and notified Washington of such plans by the Russian army.
