It has now been decided to postpone the return of Russian specialists to the Bushehr nuclear power plant in Iran for the time being. This was announced on May 27 by Rosatom CEO Alexey Likhachev.

"It has been decided to postpone the return of our comrades to the site for the time being," Interfax quoted him as saying.

According to Likhachev, conflicting information from the negotiating platforms, as well as periodic strikes on Iranian territory, caused the temporary suspension of the return of specialists to the facility.

On May 19, Likhachev announced that demonstrative attacks on nuclear facilities, including the Zaporizhia NPP and the Iranian Bushehr NPP, lead to the threat of the spread of radiation. He called the allocation of zones of nuclear facilities from the space of weapons use the only way to keep the situation from becoming critical.

On April 20, Likhachev announced the completion of the evacuation of employees from the Bushehr NPP. More than 600 people were evacuated. He noted that 20 volunteers remained at the station and four more people remained in Tehran.
