Despite the fact that summer is not the most popular time for TV premieres, this year June will delight viewers. The ladies' audience will definitely be drawn to "The Story of his Handmaid" — there haven't been any major and expensive romantic series in the Russian historical entourage on the screens, it seems, since the days of "Poor Nastya". But schoolchildren were especially lucky this season: by the beginning of the holidays, they can choose from the pop music story "The Double Life of Mi" for those who are younger, and the mystical thriller "Malachite" for those who are no longer afraid of screen horrors. Izvestia tells about the brightest TV premieres in June.

Count Nikolai Sheremetyev is a rich man, handsome and a hero. Of course, the eyes of all Moscow noble families with marriageable daughters are riveted on him: a young bachelor, the count is the most desirable groom in Moscow, and maybe even Russia. Anna Averina could also be interested in the count, but she has much more serious problems: her father lost the estate at cards, and it was to Sheremetyev. Anna, trying to save her family from poverty and shame, asks Sheremetyevo for leniency towards her father and agrees to his humiliating condition: after a year of service on his estate, he will return Anna and her family to their home. Meanwhile, Nikolai has other concerns. He urgently needs to get married.: According to his mother's will, he must marry within a year, otherwise he will be left without inheritance. But the more often he interacts with potential brides, the more he is attracted to Anna's company...

The creators of "The Story of his Handmaid" were clearly inspired by the success of Turkish romantic TV shows in a historical setting among the Russian public — and for good reason.: they consistently occupy leading positions in the Russian rating of TV series from Medialogia. A love movie novel based on Russian material is sure to cause even more delight among viewers: the guarantee is the cult status of even "Midshipmen", even "Poor Nastya". Moreover, the casting was clearly a success: the handsome Matvey Lykov, who has a modeling career under his belt, and the emotional, lively mimicry of Milan Bru look great next to each other. Nevertheless, there are nuances: it seems that the scriptwriters did not draw information about the noble life of Pushkin's time from the most reliable sources. Various servants were engaged in mopping floors and serving coffee in noble estates: some concepts of hygiene, as well as the division of labor, were already available in high society. And the cry of the proud maiden "Sheremetyevo, you cannot understand the suffering of ordinary people!" threatens to turn the action into a comedic plane. Let's hope that the threat remains empty.

Five young and ambitious residents of Manhattan dream of wealth, fame and everything else that is impossible not to dream of at the age of 18. So far, success is far ahead for them. Charming beauty AJ gets a job as an analyst at a large bank and believes that she has found the perfect position for a career start. Her friend Abby Chilukuri becomes an assistant to a famous stylist, and although it turns out to be difficult to work, she is determined to go all the way and find her way to the top of the fashion business. But medical student Kel was unlucky: the profession disgusts him, but he does not see a way to give it up. The first independent steps and the first mistakes, the first sincere feelings and the first blows of fate — everything is like it happens for young people entering an independent life.

Told with a fair sense of humor, the story from the lives of young happiness seekers looks very real. The creator of the new TV show is Mindy Kailig, known for the projects "The Office" and "Four Weddings and One Funeral," so there's nothing wrong with the jokes in the new series. Cute and funny stories of growing up are especially relevant in May, when schools in both hemispheres are releasing another generation of boys and girls into the big life, full of ambition and dreaming of success — and, of course, happiness in their personal lives. "You are not suitable for us" is a great excuse to take your mind off the exam fever and dream about the future.

"Mi's Double Life"

Mila lives a double life: in the morning she is an unremarkable schoolgirl with big glasses and a modest ponytail, and after school she turns into a teen pop star and the queen of Internet streams. Millions of teenagers across the country dream of meeting Mi and expressing their admiration for her, but no one except their beloved dad and a couple of loyal friends knows that the famous singer hides her true face behind the image of a school gray mouse. However, everything changes when Angela appears on the horizon, pursuing two goals at once — to bind Mila's father to herself and end the career of Mi, the brightest representative of the teenage subculture, which Angela sincerely hates. Mi will have to try very hard not to frame her father and not reveal her secret to those who are not supposed to know about it...

The project was done very carefully: realistic dialogues, clip editing, dynamic action and a lot of teen music performed by the same Mila-Mi — Milana Khametova, a blogger and Internet vocalist. The acting talents of the lively and liberated 16-year-old Milana are worthy of all praise, but her abilities for conspiracy raise questions: it's hard to believe that no one recognizes a girl whose only disguise is to change large glasses for false eyelashes. However, television is a world of convention, at least until it comes to the budget; however, there are concerns here too. It is not entirely clear what audience the TV show is designed for. 17 episodes are supposed to be shown, but younger teenagers — Khametova's main audience — are unlikely to sit out such a long story; parents could, but not for them the hearts in the reels are shining, and they prefer vocals of a slightly different kind. However, we wish the creators of the series good luck; they tried their best.

"Cape of Fear"

Max Cady is released after serving 17 years in prison for violence. Over the years, he has not repented of anything: on the contrary, he is eager to meet with his lawyers Anna and Tom Bowden, who represented him at the trial and hid important evidence from the jury that could significantly mitigate the sentence. Anna and Tom live happily, they have a daughter growing up. But now Cady begins to pursue them, determined to deprive the family of lawyers of everything that they themselves were deprived of 17 years ago.

John McDonald's novel "The Executioners" has already been filmed enough to write a description of the era based on the specifics of the script. The first film adaptation was released in 1962, starring Gregory Peck and Robert Mitchum. Lawyer Bowden, played by Peck, is a good citizen, an excellent family man, a father with many children, and a man of honor: he did not even defend Cady, but testified at the trial. In the still-popular 1991 film adaptation starring Nick Nolte and Robert de Niro, Bowden has only one daughter, he is cheating on his wife, the family is teetering on the brink of divorce, and in matters, including protecting Cady, he is not so clean. In the new series, Bowden's wife, Anna, comes to the fore — it was she who was Cady's lawyer, while her husband modestly trampled on the sidelines: gender equality is a trend of the time, you can't hide it in your pocket. But the antagonist will be played by Javier Bardem, who masterfully portrays devils in the flesh, which he brilliantly proved in Escobar and Old People Don't Belong Here. This, of course, inspires hope.

Seventh-grader Roma came on vacation to relatives in the small Ural village of Krasny Kamen. While swimming in a quarry where copper ore was once mined, he finds a mysterious glowing malachite. The stone, as it turned out, has a magical power: thanks to it, any drawing of a boy becomes a reality. However, Roman soon finds out that not everything is so simple: it turns out that this stone has a long history, it contains the spirit of the mine, the Black Raven, who, with the help of the boy, once again managed to break free. Now Roma and his friends Asa and Gordey will have to grapple with an ancient evil and send it beyond the edge of our world again.

According to the authors, the script of "Malachite" is based on Ural legends and legends, including the tales of Pavel Bazhov. Those who want to arrange an easy family movie screening with children should remember that Bazhov's real fairy tales are more like horror films than fairy tales, and remove too young and impressionable children from blue screens. "Malachite" is by no means a fantasy with white unicorns, but a full—fledged harsh mystical thriller with a Russian soul, with mysterious deaths, creepy otherworldly creatures and insane exorcists. It turned out to be fresh and interesting, which is not surprising: it was time to start, Russian folklore, like the domestic audience, according to the same Russian rating of TV series from Medialogia, favors mystical thrillers.

Harlan Coben, one of the world's most popular mystery writers, is extremely prolific: he publishes a novel a year, and today 33 of his books have sold 75 million copies worldwide. Five years ago, Netflix, which is very good at smelling money, signed a contract with Coben to film 14 of his detective stories. The deal turned out to be a success for streaming: all seven already released film adaptations took top places in the Netflix charts. "I'll Find You" will be the eighth, and already today many are calling it the most anticipated Netflix premiere of this year. Starring Sam Worthington, famous for starring in Avatar.
