The Order of Kutuzov was awarded to the 83rd Separate Guards Airborne Assault Brigade of the Order of Suvorov for courage, bravery and dedication shown by military personnel during a special military operation. This was announced on May 27 by the Governor of Primorsky Krai Oleg Kozhemyako.
"By decree of the President (of Russia. Vladimir Putin's 83rd Separate Guards Airborne Assault Brigade of the Order of Suvorov was awarded the Order of Kutuzov," the head of the region wrote on his Telegram channel.
Kozhemyako called the award a high and well-deserved assessment of the brigade's feat, and also noted that the region is proud of fellow paratroopers. The 83rd Separate Guards Airborne Assault Brigade is stationed in Ussuriysk, Primorsky Krai.
Earlier, the military personnel of the unit received awards for their participation in the liberation of the Kursk region from Ukrainian formations. Currently, the brigade's units are carrying out tasks to create a security strip in the Sumy region. The 83rd Airborne Assault Brigade was formed in 1986. In 2015, the unit was awarded the honorary name "Guards", and in April 2025, the brigade was awarded the Order of Suvorov.
On May 25, the head of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Andrei Belousov, presented orders to three formations of the Vostok group of forces of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation for the heroism shown by their representatives during their military operations. It was clarified that two formations received the Order of Suvorov from the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, and one more received the Order of Zhukov.
