In the Lipetsk region, 1,681 people applied to medical organizations with tick bites. There are 661 children among them.

Laboratory studies of insects taken from humans have shown that 15.7% of ticks are affected by borreliosis, 7.3% by human granulocytic anaplasmosis and 0.4% by human monocytic ehrlichiosis.

Most of the ticks were attached to the territory of houses and household plots (more than 71% of cases). In 14% of cases, ticks attacked people in nature, in 5% of cases — in farming, in 2% of cases — in cemeteries, in 3% of cases — in parks and in 5% of cases in other places, writes GOROD48.

In the Lipetsk region, tick research is conducted at the laboratory of the Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology, as well as in the laboratories of the Lipetsk Regional Clinical Infectious Diseases Hospital and the Lipetsk Regional Skin and Venereological Dispensary.

Last week, more than 1.3 thousand people suffered from tick bites in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. Tick-borne encephalitis was diagnosed in a 71-year-old pensioner.
