- Scientists have ruled out the appearance of magnetic storms until the end of May.
Magnetic storms are not expected until the end of May, the geomagnetic situation is predicted to be calm. This was announced on May 27 at the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy of the IKI RAS.
"The geomagnetic forecast until the end of May is green," the Telegram channel says.
It is noted that there is low activity on the visible side of the Sun, and there is no significant energy reserve in the spots. On the flip side, there have been four top-class X outbreaks in two weeks, but they don't affect Earth.
Due to the onset of summer, the aurora borealis are almost invisible, even with possible disturbances. Flash activity is expected to be slightly increased in the coming days, the geomagnetic situation is calm with low risks of disturbances.
The day before, scientists from the laboratory of solar astronomy reported that strong explosions continue to be recorded on the far side of the Sun, the consequences of one of them "hooked" the Earth and provoked a moderate radiation storm in its vicinity. The solar coronagraphs observing the event were able to capture another atypical phenomenon — it is known as the "snow effect". It refers to the streams of cosmic particles.
