The State Duma informed the summer residents about the new fraud scheme

Recently, scammers have started sending fake notifications to the owners of dachas. This was announced on May 27 by Sergey Gavrilov, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Property, Land and Property Relations.

"Fake fines for violations in suburban areas are gaining momentum. Recently, fake notifications have been sent out to owners of suburban and suburban areas," Gavrilov told RIA Novosti.

The fraud scheme is thought out professionally and is designed for the emotional reaction of the recipient, the parliamentarian noted. According to him, a person receives a message about an alleged violation of land legislation with a suggestion to click on the link to pay a "discounted fine," after which the attackers gain access to an account on Gosuslugi.

Gavrilov recommended that with such notifications, first check the information about the implementation of control measures in the Unified Register of Control Measures, since the lack of data may indicate forgery. He also advised contacting the territorial bodies of the Federal Register or using the official website of the agency, recalling that ten days are given to appeal the decision.

The parliamentarian stressed that when clicking on a malicious link, it is urgently necessary to change the password, end active sessions, check bank accounts and contact the police. He added that the fine is issued only by decree and can be sent in person, by mail or through Gosuslugi, and notifications in messengers and social networks are not used.

On May 24, the Department for Combating the Illegal Use of Information and Communication Technologies (UBK) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation reported an increase in cases of telephone fraud using a voice confirmation scheme in the early stages of deception. The attackers call citizens, posing as employees of various organizations, and ask them to confirm personal information or agree to certain actions using pre-prepared phrases.
