The construction of new sewage treatment plants is being completed in Sergiev Posad. The degree of readiness of the facility is 73%, the press service of the Ministry of Housing and Communal Services of the Moscow region reported on Tuesday, May 26.

Monolithic reinforced concrete structures of the receiving chamber, a block of secondary settling tanks, a post-treatment shop, a production building, a transformer substation, and a sludge pumping station have already been installed at the site.

At the final stage of construction, there is a mechanical treatment plant, a biological treatment unit and a water dewatering plant.

The capacity of the treatment plants will be 40 thousand cubic meters per day, writes the online publication Podmoskovye Segodnya. After commissioning, the plant will provide 97 thousand residents with high-quality wastewater treatment.

Earlier, Izvestia wrote that the daily use of tap water without additional purification can pose a serious health hazard. It may contain harmful chemical compounds, microorganisms, and heavy metals.
