US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that the continuation of the conflict in Ukraine carries the risks of further escalation and expansion of the confrontation. He stated this on May 26 during a meeting with journalists.

"The danger in all these military actions, as they continue and drag on, is that they always carry the threat of escalation, escalating into something new," Rubio said.
