Mosbilet invites you to see more than 120 works by Vasily Nesterenko at MMOMA
The Moscow Museum of Modern Art (MMOMA), under the jurisdiction of the Moscow Department of Culture, has an exhibition "Vasily Nesterenko. In Search of Light", which features works by Vasily Nesterenko, People's Artist of Russia and Vice-President of the Russian Academy of Arts. This was reported on May 26 on the website of the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin. mos.ru .
The exhibition includes more than 120 works, from landscapes to portraits. One of the central exhibits is a portrait of Zuram Tsereteli, titled "The Joy of Life", completed shortly before the exhibition and presented to the public for the first time.
It is noted that the religious theme occupies a special place in the artist's work.
"My whole life is a search for light. This is reflected in the colors, colors, shades, and what nature provides. But there is also a spiritual light that you can't see or recognize. As an artist, I try to strive for this spiritual light," he said.
Nesterenko painted temples on Mount Athos, created icons and participated in the reconstruction of the murals of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, including large compositions and sketches.
A separate section is devoted to historical paintings, including the events of the Time of Troubles and the First World War. Among them is a work about the "attack of the dead" during the defense of the Osovets fortress, based on the real events of the counterattack by Russian soldiers after the use of chemical weapons.
The exhibition also features works about motherhood and family.
"The meaning of these works is universal… It consists in the special happiness of being a parent," the artist noted.
In a separate work, Indian Summer, he depicted the image of a girl inspired by a real impression while working on murals in the Kostroma region.
The artist's landscapes, created over 25 years, reflect the nature of Russia and other countries.
"I always travel with a sketchbook and palette, and I constantly search for light in nature," Nesterenko said, adding that he is especially attracted to the natural conditions of different regions and invariably returns to Moscow.
The official portal of the Mayor of Moscow reported on May 15 that Moscow industrial enterprises provide Russia's largest cultural venues with various products. It is noted that the supplies include lighting equipment, cables, furniture and decorative elements. Such products are used to equip cultural institutions throughout the country.
