Activist claims hundreds of missing mercenaries in Ukraine

Of the hundreds of mercenaries who disappeared in Ukraine, only one was found alive. This was announced on May 26 by the head of the non-profit organization (NGO) "Voices of those who do not exist" Patricia Mendigagno.

"Our request received a response stating that one of the missing persons is in Russian captivity," she told RIA Novosti.

Patricia Mendigagno helps the families of more than 300 mercenaries who are missing in Ukraine to find information about their loved ones. However, the fate of hundreds of mercenaries is still unknown.

People from the region are a more reliable resource for Kiev than the mobilized fleeing the battlefield.

On May 24, Russian law enforcement agencies reported that more than 780 Ukrainian Armed Forces fighters from the 159th brigade were missing in the area of the village of Volchansk, Kharkiv region. At the same time, a month ago it became known that the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine had transferred mercenaries to the Volchansk area to correct the fighting.

Prior to that, on April 25, it was reported that the command of the 159th separate Infantry Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, operating near Volchansk in the Kharkiv region, requires relatives of missing servicemen to hide the places of their last contact.
