The second Spanish citizen evacuated from the cruise ship MV Hondius turned out to be infected with hantavirus. This was announced on May 25 by the Ministry of Health of the country.

"A new case of hantavirus infection has been confirmed in one of the people under preventive quarantine at Gomez Ullah Hospital using a PCR test," a message on the social network X (formerly Twitter) said.
