The Russian Football Union (RFU) will produce a new trophy to replace the Russian Cup, which was broken by Spartak player Pablo Solari. This was announced on May 24 by Kirill Tereshin, Director of the RFU Events and Marketing Communications Department.

Spartak receives the cup for eternal storage. This is the fifth victory. We will make a duplicate. It happens. We have released the book "Encyclopedia of the Russian Football Cup", dating back to the Soviet era. And there's a whole chapter on several pages about the broken cup," Tereshin said in an interview with the newspaper Sport-Express.

The union representative stressed that no one was injured in the incident. The weight of the trophy is more than 16 kg, and its fall could lead to serious injury. Speaking about the production time of the new cup, Tereshin noted that this process will take about a month.

The midfielder of Spartak Moscow, Pablo Solari, broke the cup the day before during the celebration of the team's victory over Krasnodar. During the celebrations, the football player raised the trophy, but a few seconds later the cup fell apart in his hands.

Spartak defeated Krasnodar in the Russian Cup superfinal and won the trophy for the fifth time in its history. The main time of the match ended with a score of 1:1. Pablo Solari scored for Spartak in the 37th minute, Douglas Augusto scored for Krasnodar in the 57th minute.
