- Sobyanin shared the news about the construction of the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya metro line
The construction of the left-hand stage tunnel between Shchelkovskaya and Golyanovo stations on the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya line of the Moscow metro has been completed in Moscow, Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said.
According to him, the work was carried out under Bela Kun Square, the roadway of Uralskaya and Ussuriyskaya streets, as well as along the Golyanovsky Pond. "In six months of continuous operation, the Galina shield has covered 1.69 km," the mayor wrote on his channel in Maks. "We will complete another tunnel to the future Golyanovo station in the autumn."
Golyanovo is expected to open in about two years, the mayor said, speaking about the pace of construction. After that, "more than 160,000 residents of Golyanov will receive their own metro station," while residents of the nearest houses will be able to reduce the travel time to the nearest rail frame station by 15 minutes, Sobyanin stressed.
Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya is one of the longest radial lines of the Moscow metro, which connects 14 districts of Moscow.
In early May, Sobyanin, talking about the renewal of the Moscow metro rolling stock, announced that 96 more Moscow-2026 series wagons had been accepted for the Zamoskvoretskaya line. According to him, a total of 144 cars of the new series are now operating on this branch — the best and most technologically advanced metro trains in the world, which are manufactured in Russia.
Prior to the renovation, the Zamoskvoretskaya Line fleet consisted entirely of Numbered wagons. Compared to them, the capacity of one train has now increased by about 10%, and the doors have become 32% wider, the mayor said.
The new cars are equipped with an improved passenger—driver communication unit, metal joints have been removed between the seats, and the glazing area on the entrance group handrails has been increased. They also changed the rear-view cameras and headlights on the head of the train, which now form a "single light strip," Sobyanin added.
