Forecaster warned of rain and cold snap in Moscow this week
Cold and rainy weather is expected in Moscow this week, with the lowest temperatures forecast on Friday. Forecaster, meteorologist, climatologist Alexander Shuvalov told Izvestia about this on May 25.
According to the forecaster, during the day the air will warm up only to +10... +12 degrees, at night the temperature will be about +5 ...+8 degrees. He noted that it will rain almost daily. Precipitation is not expected to be too heavy, but it will be prolonged and "autumnal" in nature.
North-westerly and westerly winds will continue throughout the week. The most noticeable gusts are expected on Monday and Tuesday, with wind speeds of up to 12-15 m/s in places.
"The lowest temperatures are forecast for Friday so far, and after that it will be <...>...> a gradual and fairly steady rise in temperature will begin," he said.
Anatoly Tsygankov, Head of the Crisis Management Department at the Hydrometeorological Center, said on May 22 that this year's summer could be abnormally hot. Forecasters predict periods of high temperatures and lack of precipitation, which increases the risk of drought and wildfires. The fire season in Russia began in April and may last until October, and in some regions — until November.
