In India, four women died due to a tiger attack
In the Indian state of Maharashtra, four women died after being attacked by a tiger. This was reported on May 23 by The Indian Express newspaper, citing sources.
"In the Chandrapur district of Maharashtra state, four women died as a result of an attack by a tigress and her cubs. This incident was the seventh fatal tiger attack in the district this year," the publication says.
It is specified that the incident occurred on May 22. A group of 13 women were gathering leaves when they were attacked by a tiger. Nine girls managed to escape.
"The village is adjacent to the Brahmapura forest area, where we discovered a family of tigresses consisting of one tigress and three cubs. We have warned the villagers not to enter the forest yet," the chief forester said.
