- The Central Military District Song and Dance Ensemble took part in the opening of the Outpost Festival
The Song and Dance Ensemble of the Central Military District (CVO), together with colleagues from all military districts, held the opening of the Outpost festival of army culture and creativity, traditionally performing on the steps of the central Academic Theater of the Russian Army. This was announced on May 25 by the Russian Defense Ministry.
The opening ceremony began with a welcoming speech by Oleg Moseev, Deputy Head of the Main Military-Political Directorate of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. After his speech, all the participants sang the anthem of the Russian Federation together, and the highlight of the evening was the performance of the song "We are the army of the People."
Outpost is a large—scale international competition and festival where both professional and amateur teams of the armed forces demonstrate their creative abilities.
In 2026, up to 60 bands from participating countries are expected to perform on the festival stage. They will present their work in three categories: theatrical productions, concert programs, and song and dance ensembles. Each performance will be not just a competitive act, but an artistic expression of the general idea of the festival dedicated to the "Unity of Peoples."
On May 7, artists of the front-line creative brigade of the Central Military District Song and Dance Ensemble congratulated veterans of the Great Patriotic War (WWII) in Donetsk on the eve of the 81st anniversary of the Victory. Military musicians visited veterans at home, organizing festive mini-concerts. The program includes famous works of the war years, including the song "Katyusha". At the end of each performance, the band performed the song "Victory Day".
