Rakova spoke about plans to revive the institute of a personal district doctor in Moscow.

The specialty of the district doctor, who will act as the patient's personal specialist, will be gradually restored in Moscow. Anastasia Rakova, Vice Mayor of the capital for Social Affairs, told about this on May 25.

"Now we are returning what was essentially lost a long time ago — the institute of the district doctor. In fact, this is the patient's personal doctor and the central figure of the clinic," she said in an interview with RBC.

According to Rakova, the doctor will accompany the patient not only at the reception, but also at his site, coordinate diagnosis and treatment, and will also be well acquainted with the history of each patient. The vice mayor clarified that there is a long work to be done for this, which includes the allocation of sites, the transfer of doctors to a new schedule and ensuring an appropriate level of remuneration. Previously, the main processes will be configured by the summer.

In order for such a model to function efficiently, as noted by Rakova, a doctor must work full-time five days a week, so specialists will not be able to combine work with private clinics.

"The precinct officer comes to work in the morning and works all day at the reception. Gradually, we hope, the mentality will begin to change.: these are my patients, and I am responsible for them," she added.

In addition, Rakova said that patients will automatically receive referrals for necessary studies before and without an appointment, and an appointment with a specialist doctor will be available only based on their results. Thanks to this, doctors will have all the necessary information in advance.

On May 12, the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation announced that more than ten new medical specialties and positions may appear in Russia from September 1 of this year. The list is planned to include such areas as medical biology, neuropsychology, nutrition, physical rehabilitation and others.
