Pashinyan announced visa-free travel between Armenia and EU countries for two years

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at a meeting with voters on May 24 that "in two years at the latest" the republic will have a visa-free regime with the European Union.

"In two years at the latest, we will have a visa-free regime with the European Union, meaning you will be able to travel from Shirak Airport to Larnaca. You won't need a visa at all. To do this, you will need to remember your passport, and the ticket will cost only two euros," Pashinyan said.

According to the Armenian Prime Minister, its citizens have long complained about problems with obtaining visas to visit EU countries. Pashinyan cited a sharp increase in the number of those who want to visit Europe as the reason.

"From 2018 to 2025, the number of citizens leaving Armenia to visit the European Union increased by 500%," Pashinyan explained.

On the same day, Pashinyan announced the establishment of the Akhalkalaki—Kars railway connection with the EU through Georgia and Turkey. He also announced the opening of the Armenia—Turkey, Armenia—Azerbaijan railway, and then through Nakhichevan —Armenia—Iran. The prime minister assured that this would happen in the near future as a result of the implementation of the TRIPP project ("Trump's Route for International Peace and Prosperity").
