Britain's lifting of sanctions on the purchase of fuel from Russian oil is pragmatism. This was announced on May 24 by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation.
"Such situations, when they relate to interpersonal communication, are called cynicism. When it comes to interstate relations, it is pragmatism," he said in a conversation with Pavel Zarbin, a journalist at the Vesti news agency.
