The cause of death of Nalchik Mayor Taimuraz Akhokhov could be a ruptured blood clot. This was announced on May 24 by a source in the entourage of the head of the administration.

"Previously, the cause of death was a detached blood clot," the source told RIA Novosti.

Akhokhov's death became known on the morning of May 24. He was appointed head of the Nalchik Administration on June 8, 2018. Akhokhov is survived by his wife and three sons. The funeral of Nalchik Mayor Taimuraz Akhokhov will be held on May 25.
