The Russian Armed Forces launched a retaliatory strike with a "Hazel tree" against military targets in Ukraine

In response to Kiev's terrorist attacks against civilian infrastructure, the Russian Armed Forces have launched a massive retaliatory strike against Ukrainian military command facilities. This was announced on May 24 by the Russian Defense Ministry.

In particular, the strike was a response to the terrorist attack of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the dormitory of the Starobilsk College of the Lugansk People's Republic (LNR).

"In response to the terrorist attacks by Ukraine on civilian targets in Russia, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have carried out a massive strike <...> on military command facilities, air bases and enterprises of the military-industrial complex of Ukraine," the ministry said in a statement.

The Oreshnik medium-range ballistic missile system was used for the attack. The Iskander operational and tactical missile system (OTRK), Kinzhal hypersonic aeroballistic missiles, Zircon cruise missiles, attack drones (UAVs) and other air, sea and land-based projectiles were also used.

"The targets of the strike have been achieved, all designated targets have been hit," the Russian Defense Ministry concluded.
