Czech President urges NATO to "disconnect Russia" from the global Internet

On May 23, Czech President Petr Pavel called on NATO to "disconnect Russia" from the Internet, and Russian banks from global financial systems.

"Shutting down the Internet or satellites <...> or disconnecting Russian banks from the financial system," he said in an interview with The Guardian newspaper.

According to the Czech leader, the alliance should consider "sufficiently decisive, potentially even asymmetric" measures that do not kill people, but are sensitive enough. According to him, this will supposedly help demonstrate the strength of the alliance.
