Armenia is always interested in maintaining and developing bilateral relations with Russia. This was stated on May 23 by the head of the Armenian Foreign Ministry, Ararat Mirzoyan.

"We are always interested in maintaining and developing a normal partnership with Russia," Mirzoyan told the publication. News.am .

According to the minister, Armenia's strategic partnership with the United States and the EU is not directed against Russia. The country carries out mutually beneficial cooperation with foreign partners in various fields.

At the same time, Mirzoyan admitted that there are problems in relations between Moscow and Yerevan. The Armenian Foreign Minister expressed hope that the parties would discuss these issues in a constructive and healthy atmosphere and find good solutions.

On May 20, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that Yerevan, taking into account its own interests, does not intend to take drastic steps towards Moscow. According to him, Armenia cannot put its interests below Russia's, while the republic will not enter into a confrontation with the Russian Federation either. The prime minister noted that he is in close contact with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on May 9 that relations between Moscow and Yerevan have been special for centuries. Speaking about Armenia's plans to join the European Union, he noted that this requires special consideration, but Russia does not see "anything special" in this.
