Garry Kasparov is on the international wanted list
Chess player Garry Kasparov (recognized in Russia as a foreign agent and included in the list of terrorists and extremists) is on the international wanted list. This became known on May 23.
"The federal and interstate search for Kasparov G. K. has been announced in a circular, <...> it has been put on the international wanted list," follows from the case materials reviewed by TASS.
In February, it was reported that Kasparov was charged in absentia with two crimes under Article 330.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Evading duties provided for by the legislation of the Russian Federation on foreign agents").
On December 23 last year, the Zamoskvoretsky Court of Moscow informed Izvestia about the receipt of a petition for Kasparov's arrest in absentia. He was charged in accordance with Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Public justification of terrorism using information and telecommunication networks, including the Internet"). The chess player faces up to seven years in prison. At the same time, it became known that Kasparov was arrested in absentia in the case of justifying terrorism.
