Student Polina Kostikova (listed as a terrorist and extremist in the Russian Federation) was sentenced to five years in prison with a fine of 250,000 rubles for attempting to join the Russian Volunteer Corps (RDK, recognized as a terrorist organization in the Russian Federation). This was announced on May 22 by the press service of the Moscow Prosecutor's Office.
"Polina Kostikova was sentenced to five years of imprisonment in a general regime colony with a fine of 250 thousand rubles," the message in the Maks messenger says.
It is clarified that Kostikova was found guilty under Part 1 of Article 30, Part 2 of Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Preparation for participation in the activities of an organization that is recognized as terrorist in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation").
According to the agency, the verdict has not entered into legal force.
On May 20, the press service of the Southern District Military Court reported that Andrei Miroshnikov, a Sochi resident, was sentenced to 16 years in prison in the case of transmitting information to a representative of the RDK. It is noted that the person involved in correspondence with a representative of the organization was instructed to photograph the air defense facility of the Russian Armed Forces in Sochi, after which he sent the pictures.
