The top models that can be most profitably sold on the Russian secondary car market include three Lada models — Niva Legend, Granta and Granta Cross. This was reported to Izvestia on May 23 by Avito Auto experts, who studied the ads on the platform and found out which used cars retain their price best after three years of operation.

The study used data on average prices in the secondary market of cars aged three years in January – April 2026. These values are compared with the prices of new offers for the same models presented on the platform in 2023.

The Lada Niva Legend SUV showed the highest residual value among all cars: in three years, its price decreased by only 3.5%. In April 2026, the car is sold for an average of 872 thousand rubles. The top three also included Granta (-8.6%; 761 thousand rubles), and Granta Cross (-9.5%; 840 thousand rubles), whose performance is also at the level of the best in the segment of passenger cars.

Next in the ranking are Lada Niva Travel (-10.6%; 1.1 million rubles) and Haval Jolion, which showed the best result among foreign brands. Its cost today is 20.4% lower than in 2023, and amounts to 1.8 million rubles, experts said.

The top 10 was supplemented by Haval F7x (-22.9%; 2.2 million rubles), Haval M6 (-23.1%; 1.7 million rubles), Changan CS35 Plus (-23.7%; 1.8 million rubles) and Haval Dargo (-23.8%; 2.6 million rubles) and Lada Vesta (-24%; 1.2 million rubles).

"When choosing a car, it is important to look not only at the price and configuration, but also at the cost of ownership, as well as the liquidity of the model. The higher the residual value, the more profitable it will be to sell a car in the future. However, it can be difficult to correctly assess the correctness of a car's price on the secondary market — too many nuances affect the market: technical parameters, supply and demand, the history of the car," said Andrey Kovalev, director of the Used Cars department at Avito.

As reported on May 21, Russians purchased 542.2 thousand used passenger cars in April, which is 14.1% more than in March 2026 and 6.4% higher than in April last year. The Lada 2107 sedan became the most popular model among used passenger cars in Russia in the middle of spring.
