Those wishing to run for the State Duma from United Russia should not hide their party affiliation, party chairman Dmitry Medvedev said on May 22.

"If a candidate decides to go to the State Duma under the flag of United Russia, then he must confirm the seriousness of his intentions. <...> This condition is mandatory for everyone. Attempts to hide his political status will be severely suppressed," he is quoted as saying on the party's website.
