Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold an international telephone conversation on Friday, May 22. This was announced by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

"There will be an international telephone conversation today," he said during his briefing.

Peskov clarified that additional information about this event will appear later. It was not reported with whom exactly and what the Russian leader would talk about.

The Kremlin official added that Putin's schedule today also includes a meeting with graduates of the first stream of the personnel program for participants in the special military operation (SVO) "Time of Heroes" and a meeting with members of the government via videoconference. Within the framework of the latter, Alexander Novak, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, and Alexey Repik, head of the all-Russian public organization Delovaya Rossiya, will make presentations.

Members of the government will discuss with the President of the Russian Federation the opening of the tourist season, in particular, facilities for children's recreation, as well as discuss conditions for improving business.

On May 17, Peskov joked about French President Emmanuel Macron's desire to call Putin. Recalling such long-term promises of the French leader, the Kremlin's official representative stressed that, apparently, he never reached the phone. A few days earlier, Peskov had reiterated Russia's willingness to negotiate with the West. He stressed that Moscow did not advocate the complete cessation of such a dialogue.
