On the fact of an attack by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have opened a criminal case on a terrorist act against a college and a dormitory in Starobilsk, Luhansk People's Republic (LNR). This was announced on May 22 by the official representative of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation Svetlana Petrenko.
"A criminal case has been opened on a terrorist act (Part 3 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. ("Terrorist act." — Ed.) in connection with the massive attack by Ukrainian armed formations on civilian targets in Starobilsk, Luhansk People's Republic," the statement said.
It is specified that the Ukrainian strikes were targeted and carried out using four devices. The attack fell on the facilities of the Lugansk State Pedagogical University. As a result of the incident, a five—storey dormitory building was damaged - it collapsed to the second floor. Now there are people still under its rubble. The number of injured and dead is being clarified.
An investigative team is working at the scene of the incident with the participation of investigators from the GSU of the Investigative Committee of Russia. Upon completion of their work, a legal assessment of the actions of the Ukrainian military will be given.
The head of the LPR, Leonid Pasechnik, announced the Ukrainian attack on the facilities of the Starobilsk College on the same day. Initially, it was reported that 35 people were injured in the impact on the dormitory building. After a while, the body of the deceased and three survivors were able to be recovered from the wreckage. The rescued were handed over to the doctors.
